A Twitter handle named Vikash posted the alleged conversation between him and a Zomato executive. It soon went viral and many others joined the conversation and started trending #RejectZomato.

Why Reject Zomato is trending?

The #Reject_Zomato trend started with a tweet from a user named Vikas. He wrote that, one of the items he ordered was missing. He started chatting with customer care on the app. When the customer asked for a refund of the missing item, according to the screenshots, the executive told him that the hoteliers did not understand his language. To this, Vikas said that it is not his job to worry about it.

He wrote that 'If Zomato is available in Tamil Nadu, then they should hire people who understand the language.' In response, the Zomato executive said that 'Hindi is our national language. So it is very common that everyone should know a little bit of Hindi.

In response, Zomato's Twitter helpline replied that it was 'unacceptable' and asked for its contact details to resolve the issue. Netizens were still not happy and asked for a 'strong explanation' and a 'public apology' from the executive, he claimed, 'falsely accusing me and asking me to learn Hindi without any ground reasons.'
