Ground Report | New Delhi: Netizens are furious on Twitter demanding the boycott of actor Kareena Kapoor Khan and #BoycottKareenaKhan is trending as reports suggest allegedly charging a whopping Rs 12 crore fee for playing Sita on-screen surfaced online. After a media outlet reported that Kareena had demanded such a huge amount for the upcoming mythological saga 'Sita'.

According to media reports, Kareena Kapoor has demanded Rs 12 crore from the filmmaker for playing the role of Sita in the mythological project Ramayana. After this news came out, people started trolling Kareena Kapoor. Since then #BoycottKareenaKhan is trending on Twitter. A user, demanding a boycott of Kareena, wrote that Kareena, who married a divorced man with two children, will play the role of mother 'Sita'. How did She even dare to think.

On planning to cast Kareena, some people have also called for boycotting the director of the film. A social media user also dragged Kareena's actor-husband Saif Ali Khan and alleged that while earlier Saif had hurt Hindu sentiments with the tandav, now Kareena is repeating the same.

Earlier this week, a report in Bollywood Hungama suggested that Kareena was approached by the makers of Sita and demanded Rs 12 crore. The report quoted a source as claiming that usually actors ask for Rs 6-8 crore for a film, but such a huge amount has put the producer in trouble. The role may go to a young actor, but Kareena will be his first choice. The said film has reportedly been titled 'Sita - The Avatar'. It is written by 'Baahubali' screenwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad.
