Ground Report | New Delhi: Why Boycott Modi is trending; Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Union Government is determined to organize small farmers into Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and improve their income by developing the agricultural value chain, making them an influential market force in the coming years.

Committed to protect farmers says PM Modi

“We are also committed to protecting the farming community from the effects of climate change with a focus on fundamentals infusion with the March of the Future. In that direction, the recent budget promoted digital agriculture, natural and chemical-free farming and it will open a world of opportunities for the youth as well,” the Prime Minister said at the 50th-anniversary celebrations of International Crop Research. Institute of Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) at Patancheru here on Saturday.

Speaking after launching the celebrations and inaugurating two new research facilities- Climate Change Research Facility on Plant Protection and Rapid Generation Advancement Facility, he said that drought prevention work is also underway in 170 districts across the country. He mentioned the successful example of ICRISAT's work in Bundelkhand on 'More Crop Per Drop' on which he also visited an exhibition stall at ICRISAT.

Stating that small and marginal farmers comprise about 80% of the community in the country and climate change was a major crisis for them, the Prime Minister said that the Center is committed to achieving net-zero (carbon emissions) by 2070 will help them fight.

Now #BoycottModi started to trend on social media.

Recently, Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik told a gathering in Dadri, Haryana on Sunday (January 2) that when he tried to talk to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about agricultural laws, Modi was "very arrogant". And the fight between the two ended. ,

"He was very arrogant. When I told him that 500 of our own farmers had died, and even when a dog dies, you send a condolence letter, he asked, 'Are they my Did you die for it?'" said Malik. "I told him, yes, because you are the king. However, I got into a fight with him. He asked me to meet Amit Shah and so did I."
