Ground report | New Delhi: Why Arrest Rajeev Shukla is trending; The wife of Dawood Ibrahim's henchman Riyaz Bhati has accused her husband of making her a sex worker and harassing her. Not only this, the woman has accused her husband of forcing her to have sex with high-profile people. The victim has also named Hardik Pandya, Munaf Patel, Rajeev Shukla, and Prithviraj Kothari in her complaint to the Mumbai Police.

According to information received from ANI, the wife of Riyaz Bhati, a close aide of gangster Dawood Ibrahim, has alleged that her husband forced her to have physical relations with high-profile people. Apart from Bhati, the people he has accused of rape in the application filed before the Mumbai Police include cricketers Munaf Patel and Hardik Pandya, Congress leader Rajiv Shukla and one Prithviraj Kothari.

The victim has filed her complaint on 24 September 2021 at Santacruz police station in Mumbai. Police sources say that the names of the people registered in the complaint along with their addresses are not mentioned, nor is there any date and place of crime. But the victim has accused all the people including her husband of rape and harassment. 

Judge Pawan Kumar Rai of the special MP/MLA court delivered the judgment under section 482/378/407 of the Indian Penal Code. Besides Prajapati, six others were charged in the case related to a complaint alleging gang rape by a woman from Chitrakoot on a former Samajwadi Party minister and his associates.

However, the court had acquitted the four during their last hearing. The woman had alleged that the accused also forcibly raped her minor daughter. An FIR was registered against Prajapati and six others on February 18, 2017, following the direction of the Supreme Court. All seven were charged with gang rape, a threat to life, and violation of the POCSO Act. Prajapati was arrested on March 18, 2017, following a complaint.
