According to reports, the show was hosted by MBBS first-year student Soyeb Aftab. AIIMS apologized for the act and ensured that no such activity would take place in the future.

In the viral clip, Shoorpanakha is seen singing 'Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast' to Laxman. After Lakshmana cuts off the modern Shupanak's nose, he is heard saying, 'Tu janta nahi mera bhai kaun hai (Do you know who my brother is?)'.

Video clips of Ramlila staging performed by some AIIMS students are going viral on social media. On this, the AIIMS Student Association issued a statement on Sunday saying that on behalf of the students, we apologize for the conduct of this play, which was not intended to hurt anyone's sentiments. We will ensure that no such activity happens in the future.

The students' association of AIIMS issued an apology "Video clip of a Ramleela skit by some students of AIIMS has been circulating on social media.On behalf of the students, we apologise for the conduct of this skit which wasn't meant to hurt anyone’s sentiments. We'll ensure that no such activity takes place in future".

A Twitter user named Nikhat wrote, "I am also a doctor, but I am ashamed of this. Those who have done this disgusting nonsense should be punished and banned from their college.

BJP spokesperson Suresh Nakhua said this is not the first time that Aftab Soyeb has done it. "He is a repeat offender and has mocked Hindu Gods in past in utterly disgusting way. Good that Unacademy removed the video asap. Strong action against Aftab is needed," he tweeted.
