Ground Report | New Delhi: Who was Arun Valmiki; Arun Valmiki, who was detained in connection with the theft of 25 lakhs from the maalkhaana (goods house) of Jagdishpura police station in Agra city of Uttar Pradesh, died on Tuesday night.
As per the reports the police were trying to recover the stolen money from him and suddenly his health got worse. The police took him to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Arun was accused of stealing money from the "maalkhaana" of the police station where he worked as a sanitation worker on Saturday night. After the theft, the Additional Director General (ADG) of Agra Zone suspended six policemen, including the station in charge.
Agra Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muniraj G said that the accused suddenly fell ill on Tuesday night when his house was being raided to recover the stolen money. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead, they said.
Who was Arun Valmiki
Arun Valmiki was a sanitation worker. He was arrested from Agra's Taj Ganj area on Tuesday. According to the police, Arun had shaved his head to hide his identity. Police recovered Rs 15 lakh during a raid at his house before his health deteriorated and he died.
People from Valmiki community gathered at Arun's house and demanded a fair investigation into his death. Apart from this, the employee leader has a demand from the government that along with giving compensation of one crore to the kin of the deceased, one member of the family should be given a job.

opposition reacted
The opposition has started attacking the Yogi government. Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, "In the BJP government, the police is committing crime itself, then how will the crime stop? 25 lakhs was stolen from the police station's maalkhaana first in Agra, then the scavenger arrested for hiding the truth. The murder in me is shocking! Strict action should be taken against the killer police personnel."
