Ground Report | New Delhi: Shane Farrington; The public has been warned not to approach a convicted murderer who escaped from prison in Warrington, England. Shane Farrington was last seen at HMP Thorn Cross in Appleton at 6:45 p.m. m. on Thursday, March 24.
The 39-year-old was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2009 after he attacked and killed a prisoner in his cell at HMP Peterborough. He previously escaped from prison in 2018 while being treated for a head injury at a Norfolk hospital. Cheshire Police have confirmed that they are conducting a series of investigations in their attempt to locate the man and are asking anyone with information to get in touch.
This is not the first time he has escaped from prison after escaping from a hospital in 2018, Echo reports. On that occasion, the man ran through parking lots, a farmer’s field and the Norwich City training ground before being caught by police. Farrington was wearing a dark blouse with white writing on the front, blue jeans, black shoes, and a dark coat with a dark backpack when he was last seen.
Superintendent Mike Evans said: “We currently have numerous officers conducting a variety of searches to locate Farrington. “While our investigations are ongoing, we urge anyone who sees Farrington not to approach him but to call Cheshire Police immediately on 999 citing IML 1230000.
“Officers will maintain a presence around the prison and in the local area to provide reassurance to the community. If you have any concerns, talk to one of them.” Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
