Demolishing Muslim Mazar
Radha Semwal Dhoni, a resident of Dehradun, spends much of her time travelling through the dense forests of the state capital and other districts to locate mazars and demolish them. She broadcasts her outings on Facebook Live.
Dhoni is a Hindutva supporter who considers any non-Hindu architecture or construction as anti-Hindu. Her aim is to make people aware of this belief. Her message is that she has been demolishing shrines for four years and wants to make Hindus aware that shrines cannot be built like this in Uttarakhand.
In an interview with The Quint, Radha Semwal Dhoni stated that she believes it is important to raise awareness about the issue. She has been involved in demolishing shrines for the past four years and believes that it is a significant problem that cannot be solved easily.
Dhoni has been sharing videos on social media showing her team demolishing shrines and has also been involved in harassing Christian NGO workers and Muslim vegetable sellers. In addition, she has been seen questioning Hindu men carrying cows and criticizing Hindu YouTubers who express a secular point of view.
In one video, Radha Semwal Dhoni, 45, questions why a cemented road leading up to a mazar was built by the government. She questions why a building with two minarets was allowed to be built in Mussoorie.
Anger against BJP
She wonders how these structures were built on government land and where the government is while this is happening. Dhoni states, “The government may not get anything else done, but surely gets encroachments done.”
Dhoni also expresses her anger towards the BJP government, where she is seen going in front of various shrines and raising questions against the government.
