Ground Report | New Delhi: Who is Jitendra Singh Babloo; A major reshuffle has taken place in Uttar Pradesh before the assembly elections, former MLA Jitendra Singh Babloo has left the Bahujan Samaj Party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Soon after joining the BJP, he claimed that the allegations leveled against him in the case of arson were false and baseless. "I was not even present on the site," he told reporters. Babloo said that he was demanding CBI and CID investigation since the case was registered against him.

Who is Jitendra Singh Babloo

Jitendra Singh Babloo was a former MLA of Bikapur assembly seat in Ayodhya. In 2007 he was elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly in the state legislature of Uttar Pradesh representing Bikapur constituency in Faizabad district. He was a famous basketball player.

On 17 July 2009, the residence of then state Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi was set on fire at Sarojini Naidu Marg Hussainganj. In this, a case was registered in the name of many people including the then BSP MLA Jitendra Singh Bablu and Minister of State Intezaar Abdi. Dr. Joshi is currently a BJP MP from Prayagraj.

The matter of including the accused of burning his house in the party has gained momentum. It is noteworthy that last year also an attempt was made to include Bablu in the party. But the joining could not take place due to protests at the higher level.

Jitendra Singh Babloo, who came to BJP from BSP, is accused of burning the house of BJP MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi. Rita Bahuguna Joshi questioned the inclusion of Jitendra Singh in BJP and said, 'I am shocked to see this news on social media. Because I remember very well in July 2009 when my house was burnt.
