Ground Report | New Delhi: Football coach Mohd Shadab; A coach of the U-11 children’s soccer team mercilessly thrashed team players after losing a match on Friday. The coach reportedly fled the scene after committing the horrendous act.
The U-11 team reportedly went to play a match in a football tournament at Benaras Hindi University. The incident came to light when the team lost the game after returning from the BHU campus, the team’s coach, Mohd Shadab, kept three members of the team inside a room and they were brutally beaten with sticks, belts and slippers, in addition to launch abuse.
“Before the children could inform their families of the incident, the coach fled the scene. On the complaint of him, an FIR under IPC sections 342, 504 and 506 were filed against trainer Mohd Shadab of Delhi,” said Inspector Shivpur SR Gautam, admitting that the accused trainer is on the lam.
On Friday, his team had gone to play a match in a football tournament held on the campus of Benaras Hindu University but lost the match. “When we got back, coach Mohd Shadab from Delhi, who lives here at VDA Colony, locked me and two other teammates in a room and brutally beat us with a stick, belt and slippers. He also threw abuses ”, alleged the complainant.
The incident became known to his parents when they arrived at his house. The parents and their ten neighbours went to Shivpur Police Station on Friday night to file a complaint. “The boys’ injuries have shocked us all,” Gautam said, adding that after the FIR’s accommodation, efforts were intensified on Saturday for the coach’s early arrest.
