English news broadcaster Wion’s managing editor, Palki Sharma Upadhyay, has resigned. she announced her resignation at a meeting with Wion's team held at 2 p.m. on Friday.
Sharing the news, journalist and TV host Vir Sanghvi wrote on Twitter, "A huge loss for Wion and a huge blow to any channel that catches her."
It is understood that both Dr. Subhash Chandra and the new management were wary of the fact that the newsroom and news product were built on and relied on a show and an anchor.

Palki Sharma in a tweet said "This is not news anymore, but let me say it anyway, After five and a half years at WION, I’m moving on. Still in transition and overwhelmed by all your messages and best wishes. Can’t wait to share details of the new project"
For the past 5 years, Palki Sharma has been synonymous with WION, and the channel recently brought Madhu Soman on board as CBO.
20 years of experience
Palki has been a journalist for over 20 years and has worked with CNN-IBN, Hindustan Times and Doordarshan in the past. Citing unnamed sources, Exchange 4 Media reported that she announced her resignation as managing editor and host of WION during a team meeting in the afternoon.
She will reportedly host the latest installment of her primetime show Gravitas tonight on WION, where she has been since 2017.

It was after an eleven-year career in journalism with CNN-IBN that she moved to WION. Palki S Upadhyay was born on Saturday May 29, 1982 in Pilani, Rajasthan, India. She hails from Delhi, India. She is also a designer.
