WhatsApp's data and privacy policy challenged in the High Court

An application has been given in the Delhi High Court against WhatsApp's data and privacy policy on Thursday.

It has been said in the application that this policy violates the right of privacy of the citizens of India. The petition filed by advocate Chaitanya Rohilla states that this policy gives a 360 degree profile view of any person's online activity.

Along with this, it has been cited in the petition citing the right to privacy of the person that it can monitor the personal and personal activities of any person and this work would be done without any government inspection.

Along with other requests, the petitioner has demanded an immediate moratorium on the new policy on behalf of WhatsApp. Apart from this, Rohilla has demanded a direction to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to ensure that WhatsApp can access any data of its users with any third party or Facebook and its companies.

The petitioner has stated in the petition that it is illegal for WhatsApp to share users' data to third parties and Facebook because WhatsApp can only use the information for purposes that are reasonably linked to the purpose for which Was reported for.

WhatsApp's new privacy policy will come into effect from February 8, which users who do not accept, will not be able to use WhatsApp further. WhatsApp is asking users to either give their consent to share data with Facebook or they will not be able to use the app after February 8.

In order to continue using the services, the users have to accept the terms and conditions. If users do not accept the new terms of service, then they will not be able to use the app.
