What was the reason for resignation

Ground Report | New Delhi: What was the reason for resignation; BJP leader Tirath Singh Rawat may have resigned from the post of Uttarakhand CM. Citing constitutional crisis, but according to some media reports, this is not the reality.

An internal survey conducted after the removal of Trivendra Singh Rawat from the post of Chief Minister. Found that it is difficult to win elections with the face of Tirath Singh Rawat. Then the party leadership also feared that it would be a big political loss if Rawat lost in the by-election. Or if the party lost the by-election from the Pauri Garhwal seat in the Lok Sabha vacated by him.

What was the reason for resignation?

Tirath Singh Rawat, MP from Pauri Garhwal, was to win the assembly elections by 10 September. Earlier he was advised to contest the salt by-election, but he did not agree. Meanwhile, two more seats (Gangotri and Haldwani) fell vacant in the state where bypolls are due.

Earlier there was speculation that Tirath Singh Rawat may contest the by-election from Gangotri in Garhwal region. But even on this seat, Tirath Singh Rawat was not comfortable.

Amidst all the speculation, there is a discussion in the political circles of Uttarakhand that Rawat may contest the by-election from Gangotri seat located in the Garhwal region. Chief Minister Rawat had suddenly reached Delhi on Wednesday. Late on Thursday, he had met Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The Gangotri seat fell vacant after the death of BJP MLA Gopal Singh Rawat in April this year, while the Haldwani seat fell vacant after the death of senior Congress leader Indira Hridayesh. However, the Election Commission has not yet announced the by-election.

Tirath Singh Rawat instead of Trivendra Singh Rawat

In March, when Tirath Singh Rawat was brought in instead of Trivendra Singh Rawat for the post of CM of Uttarakhand, then the seats were to be swapped. Former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat was to contest from Pauri, Tirath Singh Rawat's parliamentary seat and Tirath Singh from Trivendra Singh's assembly seat Doiwal. But that could not happen either.

However, some observers also said that less than a year is left in the tenure of the state assembly and it is possible that the Election Commission may not order any by-polls to the vacant seats in Uttarakhand.

But when Tirath Singh Rawat resigned on Friday, he wrote in the letter that due to constitutional obligation, I cannot become a member of the assembly in six months. In such a situation, I do not want any crisis to arise in front of the party. That's why I am resigning from the post of CM.

However, before his resignation, Tirath Singh Rawat surprised everyone by announcing a Kovid package of 22 thousand crore 22 thousand jobs.

The way he enumerated the achievements of his government for 114 days, no one expected it. He patted himself on the back before bidding farewell and went quietly, thanking everyone, without answering questions from the press.
