Ground Report | New Delhi: What is Salman Khan's religion controversy; Bollywood actor Salman Khan has filed a defamation suit against his neighbour Ketan Kakkad. Kakkad accused Khan of being "a front for the D gang". Commenting on his religious identity and implying that he was linked to the ruling party at the central and state level, he further said that Khan "has made allegations of child trafficking and that bodies of stars movies were buried on his farm," according to Khan's lawyer Pradeep Gandhi.

Salman Khan's neighbour alleged in an explosive interview that "bodies of film stars are buried" in the actor's Panvel farmhouse. Salman and Ketan have nearby properties in Panvel, Raigad district of Maharashtra.

Salman Khan's lawyer Pradeep Gandhi told the court that Ketan had accused the actor of being a front for the 'D gang', commenting on his religious identity and being associated with the ruling party at the Center and state level. Child trafficking, further alleged that the bodies of film stars were buried in their farmhouses.

Salman Khan responded through his lawyer, and said, "Without proper evidence, all these allegations are a figment of the defendant's imagination. In a property dispute, why are you maligning my personal reputation? Why bringing religion? Yes? My mother is Hindu, my father is Muslim and my brothers are married to Hindus. We all celebrate festivals."

He further added, "You are an educated person… Those making such allegations are not goonda-chhaps. The easiest thing nowadays is to gather some people, come on social media and vent all your anger." He said that he has no desire to enter politics.

Abusive content

A Zee News report claims that Salman Khan's legal team has requested the court to remove or block all abusive content against him on social networking sites. Salman wants a standing order restraining Ketan from posting or publishing derogatory material about the actor or his farmhouse.

Salman dragged down brands such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube and search engine giant Google in his plea and requested that they be directed to block and remove "derogatory content against them" from their platforms.
