In his book '10 Flash Points; 20 Years: National Security Situations Affecting India ”, he has criticized India's lukewarm response to Pakistan's cruelty. Tewari served as Union Minister (independent position) I & B at UPA-2 from 2012 to 2014. His fourth book delves into all the major national security challenges that India has faced in the past two decades.

"For a state (Pakistan) that has no qualms about brutally massacring hundreds of innocent people, restraint is not a sign of strength; it is seen as a symbol of weakness. While the security forces killed nine terrorists, the police detained Ajmal Kasab alive, he was hanged in 2012.

BJP attacks Congress
