Ground Report | New Delhi: The government in West Bengal on Monday extended the Lockdown till July 1 in view of the COVID-19 situation in the state. However, some discounts will also be given this time. According to the new guidelines, Government and corporate offices will be able to open from 10 am to 4 pm with a 25 percent presence from June 16, but buses, local trains, and metro will remain closed as before.

Here are the new instructions

An E-pass will be required for travel. Parks can be open for morning walks from 6:00 am to 9:00 am. However, only those people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine will be allowed inside the parks. All markets will be open between 7:00 am to 11:00 am. Other retail shops will remain open between 11:00-6:00 pm.

  • Bazaars and markets would remain open between 7 am and 11 am, whereas, other retail shops are permitted to operate from 11 am to 6 pm.
  • The movement of individuals for non-essential purposes would continue to remain barred. All intra-state buses/waterways/trains will remain suspended, whereas, private vehicles/cabs would only function for emergency or essential services.
  • From 9 pm to 5 am, the movement of individuals and all outdoor activities would be completely prohibited, the government said.
  • All educational institutions including schools, colleges, and coaching classes will remain shut till further orders. For weddings, the cap of 50 guests would continue to remain imposed.

CM Mamta Banerjee said that there will be 25 percent attendance in government offices. Industry and factories have been allowed to open with 25 percent attendance. He said that the shooting of television and films can also be started with 50 percent attendance. CM Banerjee told that cinema and beauty parlors will remain closed. Banks will open from 10 in the morning till two in the afternoon.
