Multiple lightning strikes kill 11 in Chhattisgarh & Rajasthan

Five people, including three CRPF personnel, died in lightning strikes over two days. Incidents occurred during anti-insurgency training in Dantewada and operations in Bijapur, with two civilian deaths in Jashpur.

CRPF constables Mahendra Kumar and S Sahuat Alam suffered fatal lightning strikes during training. They were rushed to a hospital but died from severe burns sustained during the incident.

A CRPF jawan died while on an operation after being struck by lightning. The incident highlights the increasing danger of extreme weather during outdoor military activities in the region.

Two villagers, Rauni village sarpanch Ramvriksh Ram and his wife, died in a lightning strike while grazing cattle. The incident occurred 40 km away from another fatal lightning strike.

Laborer Charan Singh died after lightning struck while working on a rooftop. He fell from the second floor and died on the spot as heavy rain lashed the city.

Roof workers witnessed the lightning strike that caused Charan Singh’s death. Nearby cameras and electrical items were also damaged, but other workers survived without serious injuries

Lightning struck a parked car in Mansarovar, damaging its roof. The lightning also caused the burning of two fans, tube lights, and a fridge inside the owner's house.

Three family members, including two girls, died in Mahuwal village after taking shelter under a tree during a storm. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and returned to the family.

The fatalities and damages caused by lightning strikes in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan continue to raise concerns about safety during thunderstorms, with investigations still ongoing in both states.
