In the video, Waqar is saying, "I had no such intention at all. I never even comment on religious things. No, I screw it up. I was very excited. Pakistan won the match. I was very excited. I saw Rizwan and used some such words in it, which may have hurt someone's sentiments. I apologize for this. If anyone has been hurt by my comment, I apologize for that. I had no such intention."

Waqar Yunus admitted that he had made a mistake. However, Waqar Younis also said, "Pakistan won the match, so it was given more air. But I still agree that I should not have said this." Apart from this video, Waqar Yunus has also apologized by tweeting.

Pakistan's big win over India in the ICC T20 World Cup was earlier linked to Islam's victory by its Home Minister Sheikh Rashid. Waqar Yunus then said that he enjoyed offering prayers to Mohammad Rizwan during a drink in the match against India in Dubai on October 24.

Waqar Younis had said in the debate on Pakistan's big victory over India in ARY News anchor Kashif Abbasi's show 'Off the Record', "There was also aggression among the players of Pakistan. There was also strike rotation. That confidence was visible on his face. Best thing that Rizwan did. Standing in the midst of the Hindus, he offered prayers. That was very special to me."

Reaction

Host Kashif Abbasi was laughing when Waqar Yunus was saying all this. Shoaib Akhtar was also present in this debate. Shoaib Akhtar tweeted a video clip of Rizwan offering prayers, writing, "Allah does not allow the head to bow before anyone who bows before him. Subhan Allah.''

Former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad has tweeted taking a dig at Waqar. In his tweet, he has written, 'Reading Namaz standing among Hindus, it was very special for me - Waqar; This jihadi mentality in the game. How shameful is this man."
