Waheed Para was involved in sedition for 13 years says Police

For political gains, Para helped the terrorists by providing weapons and in other ways

Ground Report | New Delhi: The recent charge-sheet filed against Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, a close aide of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, has led to several shocking revelations. In the charge sheet, the PDP leader has been made accused of the activities of sedition.

A police chargesheet filed against him states that he was an asset to terror groups outside Pakistan for 13 years. The 19-page chargesheet details his journey from being a journalist to a politician in 2007. Police say that this is a saga of deceit and double behavior.

For political gains, Para helped the terrorists by providing weapons and in other ways. These claims have been made by the police in their charge sheet against Para on the basis of facts. Police's Counter Intelligence Kashmir Wing, also known as CIK, filed a charge sheet against Para in a special court last week.

The charge sheet filed against Para, one of the aides of former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, states that he helped Pakistan-based terror outfits to further their agenda. He used them to hide his political opponents.

A police charge sheet filed against him states that he was an asset to terror groups outside Pakistan for 13 years. The 19-page charge sheet details his journey from being a journalist to a politician in 2007. Police say that this is a saga of deceit and double behavior.

The chargesheet was filed by the NIA court by Criminal Investigation Kashmir, a branch of the CID department. The chargesheet was filed with the help of five protected witnesses and technical intelligence.

The CIK has prepared a 19-page chargesheet based on five protected witnesses and technical intelligence. It is accompanied by more than 100 pages that mention facts to substantiate the allegations. These mention incidents in which his party used terrorists to drive political opponents out of the way to ensure victory in elections.

In the charge sheet, he said that he had links with Pakistani terrorists Abu Dujana and Abu Qasim. He used to meet them personally and at times through overground workers. Both have been killed in an encounter with the security forces.

Gave 5 crores to Geelani's son-in-law for violence:

The CIC has investigated by registering a case against Para under UAPA and Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He has taken permission from the J&K Home Department for legal action against him. The CIK had registered a case last year on the basis of information received from reliable sources against unknown politicians and others who used their political influence for illegal and anti-national activities.

Para was arrested by the NIA in November last year. In the chargesheet filed in the NIA court in March this year, it has been said that he had given five crores to Altaf Fantosh, son-in-law of radical Syed Ali Shah Geelani, to maintain the atmosphere of chaos after the death of terrorist Burhan in the plaintiff in 2016. The NIA has also mentioned Para's links with Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar in the chargesheet.

Visited Pakistan and interviewed Salahuddin

It has been told in the chargesheet that Para was also involved in the forced marriage of Pak terrorist Abu Dujana with a local girl. The police have thoroughly investigated almost all aspects of his life from 2007 to 2020 till his arrest. In 2007, Para interviewed Hizbul Mujahideen commander Syed Salahuddin in Pakistan and on his return to Pulwama broadcast the interview on a local cable network.

He joined the PDP in the year 2013. He did this to secure himself completely by cleverly positioning himself in the PDP. Para had full freedom from Pakistan's side that he could do any work on the Kashmir issue which would have long-term benefits. He did this job well.

Used to run gang of stone pelters

It is worth mentioning that earlier it was revealed from the NIA charge sheet that Para used to run a gang of stone pelters in Kashmir. He also used to arrange weapons for the terrorists. In a chargesheet filed against 3 people, including Waheed-ur-Rehman, it was told that the PDP leader used to run a 'stone pelting' racket and also used to smuggle arms in South Kashmir.

Highlights of Wahid Para's chargesheet

  1. Para is linked to two Pakistani terrorists Abu Dujana and Abu Qasim, who were killed in separate encounters with security forces.
  2. Para has formed an alliance with other terrorists to seek their support for political gains and has changed this by providing a variety of aid and support which led to the terrorist attacks.
