The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024 on Tuesday. Among the top scorers, Pune’s Dongre Archit Parag made his mark by securing All India Rank (AIR) 3. Archit’s success is a proud moment for Maharashtra, particularly Pune, as he is believed to be the highest-ranking candidate from the state this year.
Who is Dongre Archit Parag?
Archit, who holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from VIT, Vellore, chose Philosophy as his optional subject for the UPSC exam. Originally from Pune, Archit completed his schooling in Mumbai and his junior college education in Pune. After graduation, he worked at an IT company for a year. However, he chose to leave his job and fully dedicate himself to UPSC preparation.
This is not Archit’s first success in the UPSC CSE. He had previously cleared the exam in 2023 with a rank of 153. His determination and consistent efforts paid off, as he significantly improved his rank to secure a place in the top three in 2024.
In this year’s UPSC CSE, a total of 1,009 candidates cleared the exam. Shakti Dubey secured the top rank, followed by Harshita Goyal in second place and Archit Parag Dongre in third. Although UPSC does not release a state-wise topper list, Archit's achievement places him at the top among candidates from Maharashtra.
