India is on high alert as tensions escalate along the border with Pakistan. Military operations, drone strikes, and retaliatory fire have triggered emergency measures across several states. While sirens may not be sounding in every city, security forces and government agencies are moving quickly to prepare for any escalation.
Across the country, states have ordered school closures, tightened surveillance, and cancelled leaves for police and government employees. Major cities, including Delhi, are carrying out security drills in crowded areas.
In Delhi, all government employees have been directed to report to duty. No leave is being granted. Police are conducting drills in metro stations, shopping malls, and public spaces. India Gate has been closed to visitors. Bomb squads are checking key areas, and metro stations like Mayur Vihar Phase-1 are under full surveillance.
Education shutdowns across states

Punjab: All schools, colleges, and universities are closed for three days. Border districts like Pathankot and Ferozepur are on red alert.

Jammu & Kashmir: Schools are shut on May 9 and 10. Shelling in border sectors has triggered some civilian evacuations.

Rajasthan: Schools are closed in districts like Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Sri Ganganagar. Night blackouts are enforced from 9 pm to 4 am.

Himachal Pradesh: Schools in Una district remain shut as a precaution.

Haryana: Schools across the state are closed.

Leh: School activities are suspended for two days.
Statewise emergency measures

Rajasthan: Red alerts in several districts. Blackout protocols are in place.

Gujarat: Coastal security has increased. Police leaves are cancelled in Jamnagar and Dwarka.

Punjab: Police leave is suspended. Border patrols and public alert systems are active.

Haryana and West Bengal: Leaves for government employees are cancelled. Mock drills are being held in key areas.

Jammu and Kashmir: Ongoing missile and drone attacks in Jammu, Uri, Poonch, and Baramulla. Blackouts and sirens were activated in Jammu.

Punjab: Cities like Amritsar and Ludhiana reported drone sightings. Blackouts were implemented. Defense drills are ongoing.

Rajasthan: Explosions were reported in Jaisalmer. Districts near the border are on full alert.

Gujarat: Civil flights suspended in Jamnagar, Bhuj, and Kandla. Local surveillance has increased.

Delhi: Authorities have raised the security level at major transit points and public venues.
The situation remains tense, and all essential services are working under emergency protocols. Authorities are urging the public to stay alert, avoid panic, and follow official updates.
