A shocking incident unfolded Wednesday morning in Nanning, southern China, when a newly installed sewage pipeline erupted, sending human waste shooting nearly 33 feet into the air on a busy motorway. Locals call the sewage release a "poo-cano," and it happened at around 11 a.m. while qualified engineers were conducting a routine pressure test.

Dramatic dashcam footage captured a sewage fountain erupting, drenching nearby vehicles, pedestrians, and motorcyclists. The eruption almost shattered a car’s windshield as it rained down on the motorway, creating a surreal scene. Witnesses described it as a “poop volcano,” with human waste showering over cars and passersby, leaving many stunned and disgusted.

Local reports said the sewage pipe burst was unexpected and occurred during a pressure test—a common procedure to ensure the integrity of newly installed pipelines. The Nanning Municipal Emergency Management Bureau confirmed the rupture was not due to accidental contact during road construction, but a failure during the testing phase.

The explosion overturned an excavator and damaged nearby vehicles. “My car is stained yellow and smells. I can’t use it,” one driver lamented. Although no injuries were reported, the road chaos disrupted motorists and pedestrians, with many navigating through the debris.

Footage from various angles demonstrated the explosion’s intensity, with one video showing sewage shooting up like a geyser. Roads were flooded with waste, prompting local authorities to initiate a clean-up operation. Witnesses recounted the scene, with one social media user remarking, “I can smell this video,” and another quipped, “Caught in a sh***y situation.”

“I’m drenched in poo,” one driver complained. “My car is splattered yellow. It’s ruined.”

Another commented, “Good luck cleaning the City because of your cut-cost infrastructure.” Meanwhile, a frustrated driver told local reporters – “My car is stained yellow and it smells. I can’t continue using it.”

After the explosion, officials rushed to the scene for clean-up. Local authorities are investigating the cause to prevent similar incidents.
