Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting Bhopal on April 13, leading to traffic restrictions and diversions across several major roads in the city. The restrictions will be in effect from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, as the Minister's visit will affect key areas from the old airport to Ravindra Bhawan.
Areas and roads affected
Several roads will experience traffic diversions, including VIP Road, Roshanpura, Polytechnic Square, Lalghati, Kamala Park, Rethghat, Gandhinagar Tiraha, and Gandhipark Tiraha. Authorities have advised the public to avoid these areas or follow the diverted routes.
Buses coming from Indore and Ujjain will face entry restrictions. They will terminate at Halalpur bus stand, with no further access allowed towards Lalghati. Similarly, buses traveling from Rajgarh and Biaora will follow an alternate route to Halalpur bus stand via Mubarakpur bypass, Khajuri bypass, and Bairagarh.

Cargo, heavy, and commercial vehicles will be completely banned from the stretch between Roshanpura Square and Polytechnic Square, as well as from Kamala Park, Rethghat, VIP Road, Lalghat, Gandhinagar Tiraha, and from Polytechnic Square to Gandhipark Tiraha.
Alternative routes for these vehicles will include Bharat Mata Square, Bhadbhada Square, Sakshi Dhaba Square, Neel Bad Square, Nathu Barkheda Road, Mugalia Chhap, Khajuri Road, Khajuri Bypass Square, and Mubarakpur Square. This diversion will help reduce congestion in the affected areas.
General traffic, including two-wheelers and four-wheelers, will also face restrictions. Vehicles will be rerouted through Bairagarh, Raja Bhoj Airport, Bharatmata Square, Bhadbhada Square, and other alternate routes to avoid the congested areas.
For mini and big buses, routes will be redirected from Roshanpura towards Apex Bank, Link Road No. 1, DB Mall, Press Complex, and Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1. Authorities have requested the public to follow these diversions to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid delays during Amit Shah's visit.
