Modi Government handed over Eight airports, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Guwahati, and Thiruvananthapuram, to businessman Gautam Adani. In a recent video post on X, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised concerns about the transfer of the country's airports to businessman Gautam Adani.

This comes shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi falsely accused Gandhi of omitting mention of Adani and Mukesh Ambani in his speeches, alleging financial transactions between them and the Congress. Adani and Ambani, both prominent figures in India's business landscape, are known to have close ties with Modi.

“Today I was at Lucknow airport. From here to Mumbai and from Guwahati to Ahmedabad, the Prime Minister has handed over all the airports to his ‘tempo friend’. The country’s assets were sold for how many tempos, will Narendra Modi tell the public?” Gandhi posted on X.

List Of Airports Under Adani Group

In 2019, the Adani Group acquired management rights for six airports: Mangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad. Subsequently, in 2021, it purchased Mumbai Airport and the upcoming Navi Mumbai Airport from the GVK Group.

Rahul Gandhi queries Adani's airport takeover

In a video, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi questions the transfer of seven airports, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Guwahati, and Thiruvananthapuram, to businessman Gautam Adani for a period of 50 years.

He narrates his landing at Lucknow airport, named after Charan Singh ji, expressing concern over public infrastructure being handed over to private entities. Gandhi states, "Between 2020 and 2021, seven airports like this one – which were built from taxpayers’ money – have been handed over to Gautam bhai for 50 years."

He calls for an investigation, saying, "Tell us how many tempos this took. When will you begin this enquiry?" Gandhi also comments in English, "I was wondering how many tempos it requires to do this at such a tempo." Additionally, he points out an advertisement from Adani Defence and Aerospace at the airport, highlighting the businessman's influence.
