Ground Report | New Delhi: BJP MP slaps wrestler; Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, President of the Indian Wrestling Association and BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh slapped a wrestler on the stage, during the Under-15 National Wrestling Championship held at Khelgaon in Ranchi.

BJP MP slaps wrestler on stage
The incident happened on 15th December. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was attending the competition as the chief guest, lost his cool when he forced himself on the stage despite the wrestler saying no. The incident happened during the Under-15 National Wrestling Championship at the Shaheed Fanpat Rai Indoor Stadium in Ranchi.
The video of this incident that happened three days ago is now going viral on social media. This has also been tweeted by some Congress leaders. Youth Congress national president Srinivas Biwi was also among those who tweeted this clip. He has written that ‘he is a BJP MP’. This tweet of his has been retweeted more than 2700 times.
Following the incident, several wrestlers demanded an apology from the WFI President. Brij Bhushan was present as the chief guest in the first-day competition. (BJP MP slaps wrestler)
According to reports, during age verification, the wrestler was found to be above 15 years of age and was barred from participating in the competition.

Jharkhand Wrestling Association president Bholanath Singh and others intervened and pacified the matter. Brij Bhushan became the President of WFI in 2012. He was elected unopposed as no other candidate filed nomination for the post.
