In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a 15-year-old rape victim died on Sunday due to pregnancy-related problems. The victim was seven months pregnant.

While giving information about this on Sunday, the police said that the victim was admitted in the district hospital.

Police said that the victim was admitted to the hospital on Saturday night and she died on Thursday night.

According to the news agency PTI, the hospital's senior superintendent Dr. Subodh Sharma said that the girl was brought to the hospital in a very bad condition and later deteriorated further.

He said that despite the doctors' best efforts, the girl's life could not be saved.

Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police Rohit Singh Sajwan said, "According to the postmortem report, the death is due to infection. The viscera of the girl has been kept safe. "

The girl's father is mentally unwell. The father said that the family came to know on December 6 that his daughter had been pregnant for six months.

He told that a 30-year-old man raped his daughter in June last year. The girl went out of her housework. The accused intimidated the victim that he would kill him if he told anyone about it.

According to the police, the victim's father lodged a complaint on December 4 at the Fatehganj West Police Station. The accused were arrested on 6 December.

Fatehganj West Police Station Police Station officer Ashwani Kumar said that a charge sheet has been filed in the case.

The girl's father had sought permission from the district hospital for the victim's miscarriage, but the doctors refused because of the prolonged pregnancy and ongoing police case.
