The English newspaper The Indian Express , quoting its sources, has written that under this new policy, those who will cooperate in population control, they will get some kind of encouragement from the government.

The Health Department of Uttar Pradesh has prepared a draft of this policy which is based on the findings of National Health Survey-4.

After reviewing this draft, on Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi said that it is necessary to control the population growth rate for the development of the state. Better facilities can be provided to all the citizens of the state only by controlling the population. 

The new population policy includes better management of nutrition, education and health of adolescents aged 11 to 19 years, besides making comprehensive arrangements for the care of the elderly. (UP government is bringing new)

It has been told that through the new population policy, under the family planning program, efforts will be made to increase the accessibility of contraceptive measures and to provide proper arrangements for safe abortion.

At the same time, efforts will also be made to reduce the neonatal mortality, maternal mortality rate through improved health facilities.

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the country's largest state in terms of population, said, "Since the period of 2000-16 outgoing population policy of the state has ended, the need of the hour is to bring a new population policy."

The Chief Minister told the officials that while framing the new population policy, efforts should be made to maintain "demographic balance in all communities" along with easy availability of advanced health facilities to bring down the maternal and child mortality rate to the minimum level. proper nutrition.

Sources said the new policy is being formulated in such a way that the targets have been set in two phases- for 2026 and 2030.
