Ground Report| News Desk| Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has recommended a CBI probe into the Hathras incident. Chief Minister’s office gave information on Twitter that according to the office, the Chief Minister has recommended to investigate the entire Hathras case with the CBI.
In a tweet, the Chief Minister said he has recommended a CBI probe in all aspects linked to the Hathras episode.He said the state government is determined to ensure the harshest punishment for all those responsible for this incident.
The State government had earlier ordered an SIT inquiry into the incident.The Chief Minister on Friday evening ordered the suspension of Hathras superintendent of police and three other police officers for negligence and tardy investigation in the case.
He also ordered “narco-analysis polygraph tests” to be conducted on everyone involved in the case.On Saturday, UP Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi and Director General of Police HC Awasthi travelled from Lucknow to meet the victim’s family.
Talking to media persons in Hathras, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi said orders for the suspension of police personnel, including the superintendent of police, were issued within two hours of receiving the first report of the SIT team sent to the village. He also assured the victim’s family that the strictest action will be taken against all those found guilty.
The woman died of her grievous injuries in the early hours of Tuesday at a Delhi hospital, a fortnight after she was attacked by a group of men.
Earlier on Friday, the Chief Minister gave a statement that we are committed to the safety and development of every mother and sisters. The culprits will get such punishment will become an example for future.
CM Yogi had said in a tweet, ‘In Uttar Pradesh, the idea of destroying the honor and self-respect of mothers and sisters is sure to destroy the entire destiny of those who have. They will get such punishment which will set example in future. Your Uttar Pradesh government is committed to the safety and development of every parent. This is our resolve – promise.
Significantly, on this matter, opposition parties are targeting Yogi government on law and order. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is seeking resignation from CM Yogi, while BSP supremo Mayawati is saying that she should go to Gorakhpur and run the monastery. Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC MPs are clashing with UP police in an attempt to go to Hathras.
Questions are being raised on the attitude of the police and the administration. At the same time, at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, CM Arvind Kejriwal has also accused the UP administration of hiding the truth. Therefore, now the Yogi government ordered strict action against the culprits who came into action.
