Pakistan Super League 2021

It is no exaggeration that the Pakistan Super League is currently the most popular cricket league in Pakistan. This league has faced a number of existential threats over the years, but it has also demonstrated PSL’s steel determination to continue to grow and become an elite T20 league on the international stage. As the 2022 PSL season approaches its start date, it’s time to recall the unforgettable moments in PSL 2021

Multan Sultans rise from the dead and created history

One victory and four major defeats in the first five games. This was statistically even worse than Pakistan at the 1992 World Cup. Then we saw that Multan’s strategy had changed as they took the risk of playing the long tail. Online betting worked at Multan as they now had a powerful bowling attack and the older rackets sucked in the pressure to defend the long tail. Multan won 6 of the next 7 matches, including an impressive defeat to Islamabad United in the qualifiers and Peshawar Zalmi in the final.

Islamabad United set a new PSL record, scoring 8 victories in the group stage but withered away against Multan and Peshawar under pressure. Furthermore, we saw Lahore Qalandars win 5 of the first 6 matches but then an unprecedented crash, losing the next 4 matches and finishing 5th on the leaderboard.

Other unforgettable moments in PSL 2021

Peshawar Zalmi vs. Quetta Gladiators in Karachi

A game that Quetta controlled until 37 strokes, but Peshawar ran for victory. Peshawar chased a mammoth 199 despite falling behind in most of the game. Many PSL betting sites were giving so high odds on the same match.

Islamabad United vs. Lahore Qalandars in Abu Dhabi

Islamabad is 20-5 behind. Then the 123 partnership between Asif Ali and Iftikhar Ahmed took them to 152/7. Lahore was comfortably 86/2 in 10 over but fell to 124 through the gates of Musa Khan, Shadab Khan, and Fawad Ahmed.

Islamabad United vs. Peshawar Zalmi in Abu Dhabi

The most successful match in PSL history to date. A match full of boundaries and sixes. Islamabad gained a mammoth for 247/2. Peshawar put a lot of effort into the chase, but ended up with just 15 runs down.
