Ground Report | New Delhi: Relations between Israel and the UAE have been strained due to the bloody conflict between Israel and Palestine last month. Jerusalem's deputy mayor told the AFP news agency that it had only been a few months since relations between the two countries returned to normal and such discomfort has arisen.

Recently, there was a meeting between the two countries regarding business. Regarding this meeting, the deputy mayor of Jerusalem, Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, said that the talks were absolutely open and everyone showed understanding.

This meeting was held in Dubai in the name of the Bilateral Investment Conference. Hassan is the co-founder of the UAE-Israel Business Council. He expressed hope that the trade between the two countries will cross billion dollars in the coming days.

The UAE was the third Arab country to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel in 2020. For this, the then-Trump administration in America had tried hard, which resulted from that. This move of the UAE was condemned by the Palestinians.

Since the normalization of relations between the two countries, many types of agreements have been announced. There is also talk of traveling without visa for citizens of both countries.

But last month, 11 days of bloody violence between Israel and the Palestinians continued and Arab countries remained uneasy about it. Regarding the atmosphere between the two countries leaders in the meeting, Hassan said that it was not easy.

Hassan said, "I have been involved in many types of meetings in Israel and UAE but there was discomfort here. Where there were disagreements, we spoke openly. There were many questions in the minds of the people regarding the Israeli military operation. It is true that the relationship between the two countries is just beginning. Trust is very important for a long-term relationship. We had no relation for a long time, so it will take some time.

Hassan said, "The questions were mainly about the retaliation of Israel's troops, but were also being asked about the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
