Ground Report | New Delhi: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday and spoke to him on issues related to Maratha reservation, Metro car shed, and GST compensation. This meeting lasted for an hour and a half. Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar and senior Congress leader Ashok Chavan were also with Uddhav.

After the meeting, Uddhav Thackeray said, "Spoke to him on issues related to Maratha reservation, OBC reservation, Metro car shed, and GST compensation." He said that the Maharashtra government wants to move the Metro car shed to Kanjurmarg. Both the state and the center have been claiming this land that belongs to them. Maharashtra Finance Minister Ajit Pawar said that GST compensation was also discussed in this meeting.

He said that the issue of granting classical language status to Marathi is also pending with the Centre. Apart from this, the issue of the members of the Legislative Council was also raised in which the names of 12 members of the Legislative Council have been sent to the Governor but they have not been approved yet.

"We'd require 12 crore doses to inoculate 6 crores, people, twice, in 18-44 years group. We tried but couldn't do it as there wasn't an adequate and steady supply. Thankful to PM Modi for centralising vaccine procurement. I hope everyone in India is vaccinated soon," Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray said post his meeting with PM Modi.

The issue of crop insurance was also raised in the meeting and it was said that its conditions should be simplified. In the morning, while releasing the picture of this meeting from the Twitter handle of the PMO, it was told that Uddhav Thackeray, Ajit Pawar and Ashok Chavan are meeting PM Narendra Modi.
