Three militants have been killed in an encounter with government forces in Pinglish village of Tral sub-divison in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports said that three militant bodies have been recovered from the debris of the house where they were hiding.
The bodies of slain militants were recovered on Sunday evening when firing stopped. The police has taken bodies of slain to nearby police station for identification.
Earlier Sunday afternoon, forces launched a cordon and search operation in Pinglish village after getting specific inputs about presence of some militants in the area. Soon after forces reached the spot where it was believed that two-three militants are hiding, the militants who were hiding in an house fired upon them triggering a gunfight.
In the initial exchange of fire, one militant got killed. After exchanging fire with government forces for hours, rest two militants got killed early last evening.
The operation in the area has ended while forces have left the area.
