Ground Report | New Delhi: Times Now Mcadams Video; A video of an Indian TV debate on Ukraine went viral after the presenter berated a guest for more than a minute live, before realizing he was yelling at the wrong person.
The clip shows Rahul Shivshankar, a right-wing TV host for India's Times Now news channel, scolding Bohdan Nahaylo, editor-in-chief of Ukraine's English-language Kyiv Post newspaper.
In the video, Shivshankar appears to believe that Nahaylo is actually Daniel McAdams, the executive director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, the other panellist on his show.
Bohdan Nahaylo, the editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian newspaper Kyiv Post, who was misunderstood as Daniel McAdams, the executive director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, due to mistaken identity, was bombarded with several intense questions and even asked to 'fight alongside his men' in Ukraine instead of blaming others for Shivshankar on national television.
Needless to say, the faux pas video instantly went viral and before long #McAdams was trending on Twitter as it became the latest internet meme. See what the internet is saying about the 'I'm McAdams' blunder here:
Believing he is addressing an American expert, Shivshankar tells Nahaylo: “Mr. McAdams, if he is so worried about the Ukrainians… get off the fence and send your forces in and put your boots on the ground. Don't lecture us here in India, okay? I'm not going to listen to your sermon. And if you really have problems (sic), then tell the president of the USA, Mr. Biden, who is showing… who is showing his fancy credentials,” the newscaster can be heard shouting.
As the cross-talk between Shivshankar and Nahaylo continues, Mr. McAdams himself can be heard saying, "I'm not even talking." He is not heard by Shivshankar.
“And don’t sit here and lecture us... don’t sit here and lecture us Mr McAdams. We shut him down,” Shivshankar said.
At this point the real Mr McAdams interjects, shouting: “I’m not talking! It’s the other guy who’s talking. I haven’t been able to say a word!”
“Absolutely. The man has gone completely ballistic, and if he feels so strongly, he should go and fight alongside Ukrainians who are being killed,” replies Shivshankar, still not realising he’s been berating the wrong person.
