Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Time Capsule to be placed under Ram Mandir

According to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the time capsule will help anyone in the future who wishes to study the history of Ram Mandir. It is placed down there in order to help anyone in future who might want to know the history of this grand temple.

"A time capsule will be placed about 2000 feet down in ground at the Ram Temple construction site. So, that in the future anyone who wishes to study about the history of the temple, he'll only get facts related to Ram Janmabhoomi," Kameshwar Chaupal, a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said.

Time capsules are the containers filled with objects considered to be typical of the present period in history and then buried, so that it can be dug up and studied much later. They are usually intended as a method of communication with future people and to help future archeologists, anthropologists and historians. They are usually buried during big events.

Typically, a time capsule is a sealed container that contains record of contemporary life and people. Including documents and non perishable items. In 1901, a time capsule was placed inside the head of the copper lion ornamenting the Old State House in Boston. It was opened in 2014, during repairs to the sculpture and building, with plans to add new artefacts and reinstall it in its original location

The first recorded Time capsule buried in India was in the year 1972. When Prime Minister Indira Gandhi buried it outside Red Fort complex on 15th August. Capsule named 'Kaalpaarta' is meant to be opened after 1000 years. The next Janata Goverenment unearthed it after 5 years and its objects were never revealed to public and were lost.

In 2010 few capsules were buried, one in IIT kharagpur in the presence of President of India. Another in Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, with a view of marking the 50 years of Gujarat's foundation.

The latest was in the year 2019. Under the flag holding of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Capsule was buried in the premises of Lovely Professional University, a University located in Jalandhar, Punjab on the second day of Indian National Congress dated 4 January 2019. A 8x8 time capsule-box made of aluminium and wood with a glass door. 10 feet into the ground. A smart phone, landline telephone, VCR, stereo player, stop watch, computer parts like hard disk, mouse, laptop, central processing unit, a motherboard, hard disk with the latest documentaries and movies, a camera, science-text books and scientific equipment like rheostat, refrectorscope and double microscope are some of the things that will remain buried for 100 years.

The time capsule to be at the site so that there are no disputes in the future related to Lord Ram’s birth place. The time capsule will be placed inside a Tamra Patra (copper plate) before it is placed 2,000 feet under the Ram Mandir site. The objects to be placed inside the capsule are not yet disclosed.

Yet the preparations for Bhumi poojan are going on with full swings. various types of soils and holy water from different pilgrimage sites around the country is to be included as a part of the ceremony Pujan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also join the ceremony and lay the foundation stone. apart from that, various Ministers are going to be a part of this foremost event in Indian History.
