Ground Report | New Delhi: Tension between India and China; Even after a year and a half of the military standoff along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh, the tension between India and China does not seem to be subsiding. The situation regarding Hot Springs has not been resolved even in the 13th round of Corps Commander level talks on Sunday.

Tension between India and China

A day after talks to resolve the dispute over Hotsprings between India and China, took place on Sunday at the Moldo border meeting point of the army near Chushul, that is, on Monday, the two countries talk with each other.

The situation is improving along the northern and southern flanks of Pangong Tso and Gogra Post, but the armies of the two countries have been face-off in Hotsprings since May 2020 and nothing is working here.

unreasonable demands

The Indian military said China was presented with "constructive advice", but was "unwilling to accept it", and could not make any "far-reaching proposals".

Earlier, China had said that India is raising unreasonable and unreasonable demands, which is causing difficulties. They (India) should not miscalculate any situation.

This exchange of sharp words is different from previous meetings. Earlier, India and China have been issuing a joint statement regarding the meeting, which clearly shows that a consensus has been reached between the two countries.

In a statement issued by the Indian Army, it has been said that in the meeting, the Indian side asked China to take appropriate steps to restore the status quo in the remaining three disputed areas.

The Indian side emphasized that only by resolving the remaining three issues, bilateral relations between the two countries will also move forward.

violation of bilateral agreements

Indian representatives said that this position on the LAC is due to change in status quo on the part of China and violation of bilateral agreements. Therefore it was necessary that China should take appropriate steps in this matter.

Before this 13th round of military talks, the foreign ministers of both the countries met in Dushanbe. There both the foreign ministers had agreed to resolve the remaining issues of India-China at the earliest.

During the 13th round of meeting, Indian representatives made many suggestions for the solution in the remaining three areas, but the Chinese representatives did not agree. In such a situation, despite the long meeting, it was fruitless.

However, both sides have agreed to continue talks and are also committed to stability at the ground level.
