Taliban shuts down Indian consulates in Kandahar for 'security'

Ground Report | New Delhi: Taliban shuts down Indian consulates; In Afghanistan, the Taliban on Wednesday searched closed Indian consulates in Kandahar and Herat. Taliban extremists entered the embassies by breaking the locks. Shelves for documents at the Kandahar embassy were searched and vehicles parked at both embassies were taken.

According to the 'Hindustan Times, in Kabul, the state intelligence agency is conducting house-to-house searches in search of Afghans working for the NDS. At the same time, there is no information about what is happening in the consulates of Jalalabad and Kabul.

According to reports, about 60,000 fighters of the Haqqani network have captured the capital Kabul. It is headed by Anas Haqqani, brother of Haqqani group chief Sirajuddin Haqqani. Anas Haqqani met former Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai and HCNR chief Abdullah Abdullah. It also shows that the activities of Karzai and Abdullah are banned and controlled by the Taliban.

Taliban shuts down Indian consulates

Talks are underway with Karzai and Abdullah to formally hand over power to Taliban leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar during an event at the presidential residence. It is being told that Sirajuddin Haqqani is issuing instructions from Quetta.

On Saturday, President Ashraf Ghani addressed his countrymen and promised that the situation will not be allowed to escalate as the Afghan leadership is in talks with world leaders to mobilize the army.

A delegation of Afghan leaders will leave for Islamabad on August 15, which will include Yunus Lawyur, Mohammad Karim Khalili, Ustad Mohkik, Ahmed Zia Masood, Khalid Noor, Latif Pedram, Syed Mansoor Naderi (all non-Pashtuns) and Kalimullah Naqibi. A Pashtun but affiliated to Jamiat-e-Islami.

Another Afghan delegation led by Abdullah Abdullah will visit Doha. Sources said Abdullah has an "important" meeting in Kabul on Sunday and therefore will not leave for Doha tonight, as was expected earlier.
