Rail and road traffic has been affected during the Bharat Bandh called by farmers’ organizations today to protest against the new agricultural laws. All emergency services will remain operational during Bharat Bandh.
There will be no restriction on the ambulance. At the same time, milk, fruits, vegetables and other items will be completely banned.
As part of the demonstration, farmers from northern states, especially Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, took to the streets.
RJD workers stopped train in Bihar
The Bharat Bandh was shown to have an effect in Jehanabad, Bihar today against the new agriculture bill.
During the bandh, the grand alliance supporters blocked NH-83 and NH-110 since early morning. Jam supporters fired tires and blocked near Kako turn, burning tires on the streets and shouting slogans against the central government and agricultural bills.
They were demanding to be withdrawn. The roads were jammed due to the tire removal of the vehicles. RJD workers also staged a demonstration by stopping the Palamu Express in Jehanabad during the bandh.
Demonstration from Telangana to West Bengal
The employees of the Telangana Road Transport Corporation in Kamareddy, Telangana, have given their support to the Bharat Bandh called by the farmers unions.
A bus driver said, “The CM has voiced against the farm laws. We are with him and RTC workers are protesting here. There should not be injustice to the farmers.”
In West Bengal, leftist political parties protested on railway tracks at Kolkata’s Jadabpur railway station in support of today’s Bharat bandh and stopped a train.
Protesters took to the streets
Protests are taking place in different parts of the country during the Bharat Bandh.
Apart from political parties, various organizations have also supported this bandh. Leaders of left parties have blocked roads in Parvatipuram in Andhra Pradesh.
On the other hand, in Bihar too, silence was seen on the streets in support of the bandh and a large number of security personnel have been deployed.
A large number of security personnel have been deployed at Delhi’s Singhu border.
