The Betwa River's origin in Jhiri has dried up due to paddy farming, borewells, and deforestation. Experts warn of groundwater depletion. The MP government will survey the area & launch the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan to restore & protect river sources.
When we first started our walk, along the river, we saw just regular families, all mining sand from the riverbanks and just piling it into little triangles beside Betwa river, in Madhya Pradesh
