SuVitas, India’s first transition care chain, which currently runs two state-of-the-art facilities in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, announced the launch of its Virtual Rehab Services, a first of its kind in the country today. With the current situation of the nationwide lockdown in the wake of COVID-19 and limited possibilities of patients availing outpatient services due to restricted movement, the launch of its Virtual Rehab Services has been accelerated to address various needs for physical medical rehabilitation interventions. A delay in availing these physical rehab services can result in greater pain, longer-term debility or permanent disability, recurrence of diseases in patients and in some cases can be fatal too.

Social distancing and isolation are likely to continue for the medium to long term and travel will continue to be restricted unless absolutely necessary. With the launch of the Virtual Rehab HUB, anyone, anywhere in the world can avail phone and/or video consultations from the expert Rehab team at SuVitas including a general practitioner (GP), US board-certified Geriatrician, Specialized Physiotherapists, Occupational therapist, Speech/swallow therapist, Psychologist, Dietician and Naturopath.

Some of the medical conditions that can be addressed through these services include:

  1. Pain Management and Ergonomic Consultations for working from home, such as back pain, headaches etc
  2. Psychological counselling for anxiety/ depression and coping techniques with isolation
  3. Prehab or post-surgical rehab for various Neurological and Orthopedic conditions such as Stroke, Head/Spine injuries, Joint replacements, Fractures et al.
  4. Elderly Care and Fitness – right from tube feeding to wound management, diet counselling and Dementia/ Alzheimer’s management
  5. Special Needs Children with Training for Parents and guided sessions for the child

Talking about the launch of the virtual rehab services, Antra Bhargava, CEO SuVitas said, “Healthcare services in India need to adapt to a changing and uncertain world dynamic where social distancing will continue to be the norm for the foreseeable future. At Suvitas, our tech-enabled services address the current circumstances where people are suffering from various conditions and cannot access their regular hospital services. The fully trained team of experienced professionals at SuVitas will now be available to provide personalised attention to help relieve the care burden of a family having a vulnerable patient, from the comfort of their homes.”

Dr.VijayJanagama, Director – New Initiatives, SuVitas, further adds, “We have been working on providing our services virtually for the last six months, to the same quality standards and given the continued need of our services by patients,  we decided to launch our virtual rehab services at the earliest. We are already seeing a very good response for the consultations from across the country as well as other parts of the globe. We feel these services will effectively bridge the gap of transition care that is required for patients to go back to their normal selves and lead a healthy lifestyle.”

The Virtual Rehab Services can be availed through either one-on-one private consultations or by way of group therapy or webinars. Private consultations can be availed for any of the services individually or a combination thereof based on individual needs and assessment. Group therapy or webinars can be conducted for various common use cases such as ergonomics for employees at home, back pain, et al. The services can be availed through a prior appointment by calling the number 7337556010 or by visiting www.suvitas.com
