Ground Report | News Desk | The landmark judgement by the Supreme Court on 11th August, 2020, held that daughters will have coparcenary rights on father’s property even if he died before the Hindu Succession (amendment) Act 2005 came into force.

Further, the supreme court’s verdict also specified that the 2005 amendment in the Hindu Succession Act of 1956 would have a retrospective effect, granting the right of inheritance to the daughters alive during the amendment, even if they were born before it.
