Raghav Trivedi, a journalist affiliated with the digital platform Molitics, reported being physically assaulted and forcibly confined during a rally addressed by Amit Shah in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh.
Trivedi recounted the ordeal to Newslaundry, detailing how he was subjected to verbal abuse, including being called "mullah" and "attanki" (terrorist) by BJP workers. The assault allegedly stemmed from Trivedi's inquiry about a video clip suggesting that women were paid to attend the rally.

Trivedi told The Indian Express from the hospital, “I came from Delhi to cover ground reports in Rae Bareli and Amethi. During Shah’s rally, I interviewed women and many of them said they were brought to the event by their village pradhan with the promise they would be paid Rs 100. I also spoke to some people who were leaving the rally venue without waiting for the speech to end. When I enquired why they were leaving early, they said they were getting late. Then, I approached local BJP leaders to question them about these statements.”
