What are the Rumours?

There is a Rumour in Kashmir that the Modi government is going to divide Kashmir once again and under this, the Jammu region will be given the status of a state again while the Kashmir Valley will remain under the administration of the Center.

The second Rumour is that a new state of Jammu will be formed by merging South Kashmir into Jammu and North Kashmir will be merged into Ladakh to form the state of Ladakh and Kashmir will be abolished.

One Rumour is that the Modi government is about to declare a separate center for Kashmiri Pandits so that Kashmiri Pandits can be resettled there. Panun Kashmir, an organization of Kashmiri Pandits, has been demanding that they return to Kashmir, but that they are resettled separately and that Kashmir is divided into two separate Center-administered areas.

Speculations

When the government repealed Section 370, which gave special powers to Kashmir, in 2019, additional troops were deployed even before the move, and even then, there were various fears and suspicions among the locals. According to local journalists, the situation in Kashmir has been similar for the past two days and there is great unrest among the people due to the military movement.
