Well well this corona Pandemic has proved to be a boon for some criminals. Just as Manu Sharma who was serving life imprisonment in December 2016 in tihar jail because of Jessica Lal murder case, has been approved the premature release by Delhi Lt. Govt. Anil Baijal according to an official order.
The Delhi Sentence Review Board (SRB) which comes under the Delhi government had recommended Manu Sharma’s premature release last month. According to Sources the recommendation was made at a meeting of the SRB chaired by Delhi Home Minister Satyendar Jain on May 11.
Manu sharma (siddharth vashisht) son of former union minister venod sharma, was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment by Delhi high court for killing jessica lal in 1999 for not serving liquor at the Tamarind Court restaurant owned by socialite Bina Ramani at Qutub Colonnade in south Delhi’s Mehrauli area on the night of April 30, 1999.
Well Sharma has completed 17 years of imprisonment from his life imprisonment and is now set free because of grounds of good behaviour at tihar jail, which clearly means that the Jessica is killed by none. Ultimately, the power and position has won and justice remained unjustified. Though sabrina lal (Jessica’s sister) has forgiven Sharma but what about the Indian judicial system, it has again failed in gaining trust of its countrymen.
The question which raises in my mind as well as the citizens of India, what is the guarantee given by the review board, judiciary or govt. That he would not commend such act further, that he is still guilty of the crime which he conducted.
Is this how justice is served in our country?
Is this the benefit of being privileged?
Is this is a justice to Jessica?
Does this mean no one killed Jessica?
