"Vels is not awarding Silambarasan TR with doctorate because he is doing films with our production house. But there are very few actors who achieve so much in the film industry at such a young age. His journey has been commendable. We all know this. He is a Master of Cinema Arts. Silambarasan TR is into cinema since the age of six months. It’s a rare scenario to see an actor's age and his years of journey, in the film industry being the same. Such an accomplishment needs good recognition, and hence, we are acknowledging through this honorary doctorate."
