Sensex Open Today 24 Sep 2020: On the day of Weekly Expiry, in early trading on Thursday, the stock market is seen trading with a fall. Today, the 30-share BSE Sensex (Sensex) opened 3838.24 points at 37,282.18 level in early trade. At the same time, the NSE’s 50-share index Nifty (Nifty) opened at 11,011 with a weakness of 120.85 points.
Red mark on Thursday, Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex opened at 37180.99, down 487.43 points, or 1.29 percent. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty opened at 10996.35, down by 1.22 per cent or 135.50 points.
Indian indices opened weak on September 24 with Nifty below 11,100 on the back of weak global cues.
The Sensex was down 482.90 points or 1.28% at 37185.52, and the Nifty was down 141.90 points or 1.27% at 10990. About 173 shares have advanced, 1000 shares declined, and 44 shares are unchanged.
Asian stocks are trading lower on Thursday following overnight declines on Wall Street amid a resurgence in COVID-19 infections across the world and European cities, raising the possibility of fresh lockdowns, further slowing the pace of global economic recovery. Moreover, sentiments were pessimistic due to delay in new US fiscal stimulus by Congress as lawmakers still struggled to move forward with a new package.
