Ground Report | New Delhi: Rohit Sharma captain; The team has been announced for the Twenty20 series between India and New Zealand starting on November 17. According to the BCCI, the selectors have handed over the command of the team to the fast opener Rohit Sharma, he will replace Virat Kohli.
Kohli had announced that he will not captain the team in this format after the Twenty20 World Cup. In the Twenty20 World Cup, the Indian team had to face defeat against Pakistan and New Zealand and the team could not make it to the semi-finals. Virat Kohli has been rested.

Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, and Varun Chakraborty, who was included in the World Cup squad, have not been given a chance in the series against New Zealand.
Apart from Rohit Sharma, 15 other players have got a chance in the team selected for the series against New Zealand.

Harshal Patel and Avesh Khan, who made two IPL appearances, are expected to find a place in the national team. Harshal won the Purple Cap by dismissing 32 batsmen while Avesh took 24 wickets. Harshal can also contribute well with the bat and play the role of an all-rounder.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar didn't get to play much in the T20 World Cup but he should lead the pace attack. The third player in the standby list for the ICC event, Deepak Chahar is set to bowl with the new ball.
