Joe v roe judgement on abortion to be over turned

The Supreme Court's decision regarding abortion in America was leaked even before it announced, after which people have surrounded the Supreme Court. In the US in 1973, the Supreme Court, while delivering the historic verdict of the Roe v Wade case, made abortion constitutional right in America. But a Court document accessed by Politico Magazine shows that the Supreme Court was about to reverse the decision. That is, abortion was about to become illegal in the US in 2022. According to the documents that Politico has got, the senior legal body of the country was about to change the law of abortion overnight.

On receiving this news, thousands of people gathered outside the Supreme Court and started protesting. In view of this, security arrangements have been increased outside the Supreme Court.

What leaked documents say?

Justice Samuel Alito believes the time has come to strike down the Row vs Wade judgment. He believes that Roe was egregiously wrong from the start in the Roe and Wade case. Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences. And far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, Roe and Casey have enflamed debate and deepened division.”

What was Roe vs Wade judgement?

In 1969, 25-year-old single woman "Jane Roe" challenged criminal abortion laws in Texas. At that time abortion was illegal in the constitution. Standing against Jane was Henry Wade, who was defending the Anti-Abortion Law. She was pregnant when the she filed the case, claiming she had been raped, and wanted to have an abortion, but her case was rejected and she had to give birth to an unwanted child.

In 1973, she appealed to the Supreme Court, claiming that Texas and Georgia's abortion laws violate women's right to privacy. Judges of the Supreme Court, while ruling in favor of Roe, said that under the Constitution, women have every right to have an abortion. No one can stop a woman from aborting her baby in the first three months of pregnancy. The judgment said that states can make laws on abortion for the last semester, but if the doctors say that there is a danger to the life of the mother in the last semester, then in such a situation the child can be aborted.

There are two sides regarding abortion in the US, many people oppose it and consider it against humanity, while one side considers it a woman's right over her body. But after 1973, suddenly the laws in the US were going to be completely overturned, which would have proved to be a big setback for this country.

The states would get the right that they could implement the abortion law as per their wish. Since the Supreme Court's 1973 decision in the US, women have got the right of abortion under the Central Laws. If the Supreme Court strikes it down, then the ball will again turn in favor of the states.
