Ground Report | New Delhi: Ria Dabi: UPSC; The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the UPSC Mains Result 2021 on the evening of 24 September. As soon as the results were released, there was a wave of happiness among the successful candidates, during which big news came out.

Ria Dabi has also got successful in the Civil Services Examination (UPSC Main Exam Result) 2020. She is the sister of Tina Dabi, who has been the topper of the 2016 batch. Tina Dabi cracked UPSC in her very first attempt and this year her younger sister got success by securing 15th rank.

Tina congratulated her younger sister on Instagram. She wrote, "I am happy to share that my younger sister Ria Dabi has got 15th rank in UPSC 2020 exam."

Like her elder sister, Ria is also a student of Delhi University. She has graduated from Lady Shri Ram College. She has an interest in painting and her sister Tina Dabi is currently posted as Joint Secretary Finance (Tax) in Rajasthan Cadre.

A total of 761 candidates have been recommended for an appointment this year. 180 candidates will be shortlisted for the post of IAS, 36 for IFS, 200 for the posts of IPS officers. Further, 302 vacancies in Central Services Group A and 118 in Group B Services will be filled.

Engaged in reading two newspapers

Speaking to The Better India Ria said that, “during my initial journey, I was mainly engaged in reading two newspapers for current affairs. These were The Hindu and The Indian Express. I didn't look at content on the Internet simply because I'm more comfortable having a physical copy of resource material in front of me,” she says. She also adds that one can also refer to the current affairs magazines released by various coaching institutes as additional material.

“These current affairs magazines are also comprehensive and give enough material to prepare a candidate,” she adds. Candidates must be diligent in their preparation and it is very important to follow a schedule while studying. Sharing her routine, Ria says, 'I started the day by reading the newspaper. I found it important to start my day with an understanding of what is happening around me. It took me around 1.5 hours to read the entire newspaper every morning,” she says.
