Rahul Dravid to be appointed as Team India's Head Coach

Ground Report | New Delhi: Rahul Dravid Head Coach; The name of Rahul Dravid as the coach of Team India seems to be almost finalized, according to a BCCI official. Rahul Dravid has given his consent to become the coach, and Dravid's contract will first be till 2023.

However, the BCCI has not officially announced the selection of Rahul Dravid. Although Rahul Dravid was unwilling to take over as Team India coach, he was persuaded by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jai Shah to meet him.

According to the report of Times of India, Dravid will join Team India as head coach after the T20 World Cup. That is, officially Dravid's first mission as head coach will be the home ODI series against New Zealand.

A senior BCCI official said after the IPL final that Dravid has agreed that he will be the new coach of the Indian cricket team. He will soon step down as the director of the National Cricket Academy. However, an official statement is yet to come from the BCCI on this.

Dravid will get Rs 10 crore annual salary

Dravid has been given a two-year contract and he will get Rs 10 crore as salary. He was reappointed as the NCA chief only last month. But BCCI needed a strong candidate to take Indian cricket forward. In the eyes of Ganguly and Jay Shah, no one could have accomplished this work better than Dravid. That's why he was selected for this role. He will take over this responsibility from the New Zealand series.

Apart from making Dravid the head coach, his trusted Paras Mhambrey has been made the bowling coach of Team India. Apart from this, Vikram Rathour will continue to be the batting coach of the team, while fielding coach R. No name has been decided yet regarding the replacement of Sridhar.
