Ground Report | New Delhi: Rahul and Priyanka don't have experience; Former Punjab chief minister and Congress leader Amarinder Singh on Wednesday said he had offered to resign three weeks ago but was asked to continue.

Amarinder Singh has spoken openly on the Congress leadership for the first time after the ongoing controversy with Sidhu and losing the chief minister's chair. The party kept trying to resolve the dispute between Sidhu and the Captain but it did not happen.

As reported by The Hindu, Amarinder Singh said, "I was ready to step down only after the victory but never after defeat. I had offered to resign three weeks ago to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, but she continued." If he had told me to resign from the Chief Minister, I would have given it. As a soldier, I know how to do my job.

Captain Amarinder Singh said, 'After the second victory in Punjab, he had asked Sonia Gandhi to give the chief minister's post to someone else but it did not happen, so I will fight now. I felt humiliated when the Congress Legislature Party meeting was called secretly. I was not even taken into confidence. I did not take the MLAs to Goa by flight. I don't believe in tricks. Rahul and Priyanka know this is not my way. Priyanka and Rahul are like my children. Whatever happened, he should not have allowed this to happen.''

Amarinder Singh said that Rahul and Priyanka do not have experience and their advisors are giving them the wrong information. Amarinder Singh said that he has kept the political option open. Captain Amarinder Singh said that age is not a barrier for him as one can consider himself old even at 40 and young even in 80. Regarding the action against Badal and Majithia, Amarinder Singh said that the law will take its own course.
